Peanut Butter Kiss Cookies

One of my favorite things to do is make cookies!  It’s something I did with my mom growing up and its something I have done with my children and grandchildren.  I love spending time together mixing and making.

Part of the tradition was always bringing plates of cookies to friends and neighbors.  I would definitely say we are a cookie kind of family.  This recipe is so yummy and its hard to only eat one or two.

Course Dessert
Servings 12 cookies
Author recipe is from my mom Sharon Winegar

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter softened
  • 1/3 cup peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/3 cups flour
  • 36 Hersheys candy kisses

Instructions

  1. Mix the first eight ingredients with a mixer (mix really well, I usually mix for about 2 minutes). Then mix the flour in using a wooden spoon. This is the trick that helps the cookies to turn out so yummy. Mixing the flour with the mixer tends to make the cookies to thin.

  2. Once the dough is mixed, shape it into 1 inch balls that you roll in sugar and put on a cookie sheet sprayed with Pam. Bake at 375 for 8 Minutes. Remove from the oven and press each cookie with an unwrapped Chocolate Kiss. Return to the oven and bake for 2 more minutes
