This past weekend, my sweet grandson McKay, decided to be baptized into my church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
When children turn eight years old, they are considered old enough to make this decision. Dressed in white, they are baptized by emersion and after confirmed with the gift of the Holy Ghost.
When we are baptized, we promise God that we will: Follow Jesus, that we will always remember Him, and that we will keep His commandments. Heavenly Father likewise makes promises to us. He covenants to forgive us of our sins when we sincerely repent, He gives us the gift of the Holy Ghost, and He promises us eternal life (life with God).
McKay is a sweet, tender, and thoughtful little boy. I adore him with all my heart. I am so proud of him for making this choice to move closer to God!
This is a picture of cousins and friends singing a song at the baptism. I loved sweet Ellie holding her older cousins hand.
I am so proud of McKay, and his wonderful example to his three younger sisters.
The whole Clevenger and Van Wagenen group, all there to support McKay.
Here is a shot of the refreshment table my daughter Amy did for the guests after the baptism.
