Heather’s Baby Shower

Last April my daughters and I decided to throw a baby shower for my daughter Heather.

We knew that she was having a girl and decided to have everything be pink and gold.  I started searching on Pinterest and found this adorable hand-painted sign and that was my inspiration. It was from Lilysnureryshop on Etsy.  Next, I found the cutest pink sparkly runner from knottednestdesign.com. I also found these yummy smelling pink candles at HomeGoods.

I collected greenery and flowers from my morning walk.  I had actually seen these amazing pink flowers climbing over someone’s wall and I helped myself.  I used some vases that I already owned and came up with the cutest little flower arrangements that didn’t cost a cent.

We loved celebrating with family and close friends.

The Menu for the Shower

Chicken salad (from Zeniyas a local Japanese restaurant)

Fresh fruit (strawberries, pineapple, cantaloupe)

Spinach, chicken and pasta salad

Avocado salad with fresh pitas

Chocolate bundt (made by a friend)

Sister Shuberts’ rolls (from Walmart)

Drinks: Crystal Light and diet 7-up and ice water with fruit floating

A friend of mine made this avocado salad for my book club and it was such a hit.  I decided to make it for the baby shower.  You can find the recipe here.

My cute granddaughter Jane with the yummy  Chicken Salad from Zeniyas a Fresno California Japanese restaurant.

The Spinach, chicken, and pasta salad are one of my favorites to serve at parties.  It’s from a cookbook called Favorites and you can find the recipe here:

Planning and having parties is one of my favorite things to do.  This party was especially fun because it was for my cute daughter.
